F ebruary 5, Wednesday: P-day Oh my goodness I am a little behind and Drew's emails are getting far and in between.  I'm not going to lie the last area he was in was a hard one for him.  So getting transferred was good news for him.  He did have some good moments being in Murfreesboro for the second time.  One being that our old neighbor, JD Wimmer, took him and his companion out to dinner.  That was super nice of him and I know Drew was happy to see a familiar face.  The transfer was a little unexpected but he has loved the change of scenery and he LOVES the ward and people in Clarksville.   I keep begging him to write more emails.  But I will take anything I can get!!   heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy everyone!!  i moved to clarksville, TN and im loving it!!  some things that happened this week > someone tried to kiss my companion > we biked in the rain and got soaaaakked > ELDER ASHBYS BDAY (today) s...

Wednesday, January 15: P-day Oh. My. Gosh.  He hit his year mark!!!  Go DREW!!!  I was kind of stressing of what to do for him for his year mark.  I wanted it to be more meaningful than just a box of treats.  He had mentioned earlier to me that I should be proud of him for only using one towel for a year.  For Drew, that is a major accomplishment.  Before his mission I would go up to his room and find all the towels he had used throughout the week left on the floor.  I think at one time they totaled 14!!!! I mean I guess I should be glad he was showering but really!!   So for sure a fresh, clean, NEW towel was on the list.  I also thought what a great time it would be with being the first of the year and goal setting in mind to focus on something that could remind him of perspective.  I found a little book called, "Make Your Bed" written by the retired Seal Admiral.  Reminding Drew of even a shift in our mindsets can cha...

Wednesday, January 2: P-day I can't believe we are 2 weeks away from his year mark.  Our neighbors moved out to Nashville end of November.  Ashley, the mom, has texted me that they share the same church building as the Nashville, TN mission offices.  She has made serious efforts in reaching out to him.  Her kindness towards Drew totally touched my heart.  I think the holidays can be a little hard for missionaries.  I know they have been for Drew.  His mission has had unexpected twists and turns of feeling defeated and wondering why is even out there.  For this, I am so grateful for the weekly calls.  That we can talk through things and remind him that this experience, even taking religion completely out of it, is invaluable.  Life lessons he would probably never quite learn at this level.  Hats off to all missionaries at any amount of service they give.   HEY EVERYONE!! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm so...

Wednesday, December 4: P-day Oh my goodness!!  I'm a little behind and I'll admit it's been quite the roller coaster here and for Drew.  He celebrated his 20th birthday on Monday the 2nd.  We quite missed him but the members in McMinnville have been so good to him and helped him celebrate.  I will forever be indebted to the Peterson family and the love they have shown him.  I hope to meet them someday.  Buenooo todos  First off I wanna apologize, P-Days go by so flippin fast and recently I have slacked at writing a weekly email! These past couple of week have been muy sombroso! I hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!! The Wednesday before was our PDay and we played a football turkey bowl game with the young men and some of the elders quorum. It was so flippin fun! Afterwards we went with some of the young men up to some waterfall hikes. At one of the waterfalls I tried gettin a cool pic on a rock close by it and my phone slipped o...

Wednesday, October 30: P-day Oh my goodness time is really starting to pick up.  I talked to Drew today and he was a little down.  It's so hard to hear that they are struggling sometimes.  But as we kept talking he mentioned to me the things that he knew he needed to do to make his situation better and the conversation shifted to something rather exciting.  He started sharing his experience about a conference he had recently attended.  It made me so happy to hear the things that he had learned.  He mentioned one quote in specific that gave me chills. I'm so glad he chose to document this experience and share it in his email.  We never know the influence we have on others just by sharing.  I know if it wasn't for anyone else to hear, it was for me and I'm grateful.  We are all so proud of him.  His example of working through things and trying to do his best.     Heyoooo Anotha couple weeks in the books. Time is c...

Wednesday, October 2: P-day Another week gone by.  He's doing great and said the last couple of weeks have gone by rather quickly.  He mentioned there is a heatwave in the area and the highs have hit 100!  I think he will be glad when it cools off a bit and he can start wearing sweaters.  Grateful to the awesome ward he is in.  They get fed often and the members have been helpful with the missionary work there.   HEYOO everyone!! anotha awesome week en el campo! i dont have aton of time to write but this week we had transfers and Elder Burnett got shipped off to Nashville and me and Elder Long got Elder Avanzo from Venezuela! he is awesome and has already helped us a ton with our spanish, its so nice!  also SO STOKED for the missionary superbowl aka general conference!! such a blessing to be able to hear from the presidency and quorum guide and lead the church of Jesus Christ! these times are exciting as we near closer and closer to ...
