Oh my goodness time is really starting to pick up. I talked to Drew today and he was a little down. It's so hard to hear that they are struggling sometimes. But as we kept talking he mentioned to me the things that he knew he needed to do to make his situation better and the conversation shifted to something rather exciting. He started sharing his experience about a conference he had recently attended. It made me so happy to hear the things that he had learned. He mentioned one quote in specific that gave me chills. I'm so glad he chose to document this experience and share it in his email. We never know the influence we have on others just by sharing. I know if it wasn't for anyone else to hear, it was for me and I'm grateful. We are all so proud of him. His example of working through things and trying to do his best.
Heyoooo

Heyoooo
Anotha couple weeks in the books. Time is coastin by! All is well out here in TN! Im loving my time here, especially in the area Im in now, this ward is so awesome! We are teaching a bunch of people and are so excited for them.
We just recently had Zone Conference and our mission wide doctor, Elder Merrel gave one of, if not the best trainings I have ever heard!
It was about STRESS! The training was specific to the stress on mission but it applies to everyone, because everyone has stress. Stress is a completely normal part of life, it is essential to refinement and progression but it can also but also overwhelming if we dont know how to manage it in healthy ways! He went on to list things we can do to manage our stress in the best ways. Im gonna alter them a little so they apply to everyone.
1. Relationships w Others (especially families)
• Dont be critical, instead edifying and uplifting D&C 136 23-24
• Focus on the Positive
• Attitude is Everything! When he said this he specifically focused on Anger. He said anger causes more stress and it is a choice to be angry.
•☆☆☆ FORGIVE ☆☆☆
I think its inevitable that will we become angry or frustrated with people because we are human, there are so many variables that can cause contention! Even Jesus Christ was mad with the vendors at the temple. But the KEY to overcoming the debilitating emotion of anger in FORGIVING OTHERS!!! Not to linger in our frustration of the actions or wrongdoing of others. The worst thing we could do is fester that anger and make it worse. Elder Merrell gave a quote that I absolutely loved relating to the topic of forgiveness!
"We must give up on the possibility of a better past!"
POW! When he said that it hit me so hard, because I have been horrible with this throughout my whole life. Thinking how my life couldve been better if things wouldve been different, some of those things I couldnt even control. And I realized why waste so much time and energy on things that I cant change! Elder Merrell also said sometimes depending on the situation we shouldnt verbally forgive others because if they thought they didnt do anything wrong that would just make the situation worse hahaha, in those situations we should forgive them in our hearts and minds and move on!
I cannot over stress the importance of forgiving others and also realizing the past has happened and there is nothing we can do to change it! The only we can do is press forward and continually improve ourselves!
2. A Life of Order
• Be Disciplined
• Manage Time
• Be Clean and Organized
• Be Healthy; Avoid getting sick
• Budget Money
3. Rest
• Sleep! Vital to good mental health. Worrying robs us of good sleep.
Relax before going to bed, one way to overcome some of our worrys before bed is writing them down and leaving them on the paper for the next day!
4. Excercise
Literally helps everything. JUST DO IT
5. Meditate and Ponder
Create time in your day just to take a sec and think!
I know there are more ways to effectively and heathly manage our stress but these things are good place to start!
I love you all so much! I know that if we manage our stress in good ways, we will be happier and better people! I know our best example of this is Jesus Christ. He and Heavenly Father are here to help us, we just have to let them! I hope you all have a graveyard smashhhh of a Halloween!! if yall get to much candy you can always send it to me ;) Hahahaha
