May 8, 2019: P-day

What a great day for a p-day.  It fell on my birthday.  I couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to talk to Drew!!

Its warmin up out in Kentucky, all the little critters are coming out. Snakes, turtles, coons, and best of all fireflys! Also the pollen here is coming out too and my allergies are killin me but nothing bad enough to stop the work!

Miercoles
Super chill pday me and Elder Perkinson could literally sleep all day if we were allowed hahaha but there is stuff to get done on pdays too. Groceries, laundry and cleaning. It makes me appreciate my mom even more! After we got done with that we went over to the Christensens (an older couple in the branch) and just hung out with them. They are really into birdwatching and they would tell us the kinds of birds that went to their birdfeeders in their backyard. When we left we spotted a little box turtle wandering around in the front yard and we got some nice pics with it

Jueves
Nothing to spicy happen Thursday other than when we went over to the Lecos for dinner she wasnt done yet so we went with Brother Leco and were over looking the river and he spotted this big ole snake! He got this bricked and nailed that sucker but it was still alive so we went down there and hunted it with an audience watching from the bridge as we did. At one point the snake poked its head out of the water and Brother Leco hurled another brick at it idk if it hit the snake but it splashed a huge puddle of water on Elder Perkinson it was so fetchin funny. I ended up grabbing it by the tail and keeping its head away from me with a stick and then brother Leco cut its head with a machete hahaha it was gnarly. After that we had dinner and as always it was so good hermana Leco makes the best authentic Hispanic food! Then hermana leco and the kids left for soccer practice and me elder perkinson and hermano leco went out and I gutted and skinned the snake with a razor knife. Kinda nasty and kinda dope hahaha it's still drying out in our apartment with some salt and rice. Got a nice souvinere hahaha :)

Viernes y sabado
Went on exchanges with Elder Murphy from Fulton he was super cool. We found a huge snapping turtle in the road by our house and yall ready know I had to get a pic with it hahaha. Saturday night we went to the Garcias for dinner they were so nice and the dad was hilarious, always good to get some spanish practice!

Domingo
Regular Sunday other than this crazy dude came to our church hahaha his name is Billy Joe and he is a hoot. He came up to us talking about how he had some people he wanted us to talk to and we said we would go with him after church. During testimony meeting he got up and was preachin, asking people questions and saying how he loves all people. African Americans, spanish hahahah he would also refer to himself in 3rd person hahah he was so funny. He also gave some questionable comments in Sunday school hahah but it's all good. Afterwards he took us around in car to the places he was talking about but they were closed, on our way there he would stop and honk at people and say "you know who these two boys are? They are the mormon missionaries. You wanna talk to them" everyone kindly declined it was brazy he also would drive like 15 mph below the speed and this one truck was so pissed hahah. After that fiasco we had dinner with the leco family again the are so nice to feed us so often. I honestly love their family so much! Their kids are so crazy but I love them all! :)

Lunes y martes
District council and exchange with Elder Wayment from Paris, I have been with him a ton he is awesome! Tuesday night are our dinner nights with the Christensens, Betty and Richard! They are so awesome, me and Elder Perkinson joke that they are like our grandparents hahaha. Betty made waffles and we had told them about buttermilk syrup and we brought the stuff to make and had them try it hahah they thought it was "okay" they are so awesome and they love to talk, all the people in the south love to talk hahaha

Anyways another week in the books you already got pics of everything in google photos. love and miss you and the fam hope you had an awesome birthday! Love you forever :) nos vemos a las domingo

This was a super cool picture Drew shared in his photos.  I love that missionaries are amongst the stripling warriors. So many parallels they share.

Sporting the Blenders

The crazy big snake they caught with the Lecco family.  I can tell by the look on Drew's face he was completely in his element.  Ever since he was a little boy he was fascinated by all things snakes, crocodiles, sharks, and dinosaurs.  His role model was Steve Irwin (the crocodile hunter) and actually cried when he died.

The snake hunters!!

Nasty!!  They totally skinned it.

Snapper turtles

He said these turtles all over the place.

Wal-Mart shenanigans
