May 1, 2019: P-day
It was so good to talk to Drew again. I had to twist his arm to email for this blogs sake. I hope he keeps it up. It will be an incredible detailed journal of his mission if he does. Sure love that kid...
This past week has gone by really fast! It has just been another awesome week of missionary work. Learning, teaching and improving!
Last week I forgot to tell you wednesday while we were shopping we ran into the all famous "Barry" and his crazy wife hahaha. Elder Perkinson has told me a bunch about him before telling me how nice Barry is, he would always drive the missionaries places and but them food but I had yet to meet him because his wife is bonkers and get mad at him when he leaves the house. Anyways we ran into them at Walmart while we were shopping and he gave us 20 bucks for food and told us to meet him at a local burger joint in an hour and that he was gonna buy us the biggest burgers in town so come hungry. At the burger joint (K&N burgers and root beer) he told us "if your ever hungry call me. I'm not asking you guys, I'm telling ya!" Hahaha hes so cool and he know a ton about the bible. Hes not a member but he just really likes the missionaries!
Thursday was Zone Conference. Always a pleasure to hear from the man, the myth, the legend President Stone. He is literally the coolest dude ever and has the best counsel and advice for all of us missionaries! His wife is also so awesome and is so loving and kind! They are the best! :) Some advice that I specifically liked that he gave was the scripture Mosiah 15:7 having our will swallowed up by Gods will and also if we are ever struggling to say in our prayers to ask God to have Christ take those burdens from us because he has suffered everything for us, all we need to do is let him in and ask!
Friday and Saturday we got some good missionary work in and found some more people! My fav experience was talking with this guy named Malik! Hes such a cool dude, we knocked his door and at first talked about Fortnite hahahaha but then we started talking about church and the Restoration. We also talked about the Plan of Salvation. We ended up talking for like an hour just chillin on his porch. At the end he was so glad we met him and he felt like God sent us to him! It was awesome, hes such a stud!
Sunday was sickk always good to get to partake of the sacrament and renew the baptismal covenants, also got to meet the Gracia Family. They are an awesome Spanish fam in the Branch and haven't came since I've been here hahah but they are way cool
Monday and Tuesday we had an exchange with the Zone Leaders, they both came into Mayfield and I got to know them better. Elder Wayment and Elder Bagshaw, they are both awesome. The first day I got to be with Elder Wayment and it was such a nice day. It is so pretty here everything is so green! The weather has been perfect lately! We tracted for a while and got the same old same old responses "I'm Baptist no thank you" "I've got my bible and that's all I need" this random old dude got pissed at us cuz he had a no soliciting sign on his door. I guess he doesn't think exaltation is worth talking about hahaha. The next day I was with Elder Bagshaw hes from the "the great white north" hahah (Canada) hes soo sick we have alot of the same interests I took him to experience Minnie and Barbara hahaha #rootbeer hahaha when I took into Minnie's he almost threw up from the smell in there of cigarettes and must hahaha
Anyways that's the jist of the week it was awesome! I love and miss you and the fam so much :)) I hope you guys have a good week nos vemos
