April 24, 2019: P-day
This P-day was a little different for us because Josh and I were vacationing in Hawaii. It was a little tricky to connect with Hawaii being 5 hours behind Kentucky time. We were able to connect and it was so good to hear from him. He had mentioned he had some different challenges arise and it was so good to talk through them. All in all he's doing great and we continue to be so proud of him.
Ohhhh yeahh another pday email from elder wiser here we go. This week has been another awesome week of improving, learning, and teaching! It kinda started out slow because Elder Perkinson down and out with a soar throat the first couple of days so we chilled in the apartment and there is not much to do other than exercise, eat, and read scriptures. Easter was awesome! We got to go up to Paducah for Stake Conference and it was crazy seeing so many members at once hahaha at the end there were some Colombian girls that wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon and it was the best to finally have a discussion in Spanish! After that we had a bomb dinner with some members in the branch! The members here are so good to feed us dinners, it's nice to get a break from totinos pizza and cereal because they actually know how to cook hahaha. Monday we biked and knocked doors the whole day and talked to some sweet people, one of them being a chef a a local restaurant called Wilmas Kountry Kitchen hahaha yes kountry spelled with a K. She was so nice and told us to come to the restuarant the next day. Tuesday we were riding our bikes into town to go to the restaurant and I then my back tire went flat cuz I ran over a tack so we had to walk our bikes back all the way to the church. We then drove over to Wilmas and talked to Cherie (the chef) about the gospel. She made us some really good food while we waited for her shift to end. I have a new love for Pecan Pie with Ice cream it is sooo good!

This week I learned alot about the extremely important attribute of HUMILITY! The world today has become corrupted with pride and selfishness. I have really been working on my weaknesses but i realized it is impossible with out first humbling myself and having faith in christ! The more I have tried to become like him and follow his example, the more happy I have been. In the MTC every Sunday we would watch a movie and my favorite one I watched was The Character of Christ. A talked by Elder Bednar. He described the defining Character of Christ was his ability to turn outward and worry about others even in times of trial! I testify that if we turn outwards and forget about ourselves we can all be happier both temporally and spiritually!
Before the mission everyone would say "the biggest convert you will have is yourself" oh myy goodness I totally underestimated that statement! I have learned so much while I've been out here and became so much more appreciative for everything in my life! I love being out here and serving the lord but I also wanted to tell you guys you dont have to be out on a mission to realize these things all you have to do is the simple stuff daily. Reading scriptures, praying, going to church every week and attending the temple often. I know that by doing these things you will become happier in your life! I love you all so much and miss you all too! Nos vemos amigos
